  Spicy recipe: Masala Appam Ingredients:   Rice ……. ……………………… 1 cup Boiled rice ……………………… half cup Urad Dal ………………………… half cup Fenugreek seeds (optional) ……    quarter tsp Salt to taste Soak the above items for 4 hours and Grind together by adding required Water to make a thick paste (like idli batter), mix the same and keep for 5 hours. For Masala: Oil…………………………………..1tblsp Mustard seeds……………………..half tsp Green Chillies –chopped………….3 Ginger – chopped………………….half inch Grated Cocount……………………half cup Carrot - chopped…………….quarter cup Coriander leaves –chopped……….quarter cup Masala Chana dal (readymade) ….quarter cup Salt to taste   Method of preparation: 1. Heat an open vessel and add oil. 2. Add mustard seeds. When it starts spluttering add chillies and ginger and stir it well for a minute. 3. Add grated coconut, carrot, coriander leaves and masala chana dal and mix well. 4. Pour this mixture into the rice batter and mix it well. 5. Grease each slot of the Appam pan and pour batter in all the slots of the pan and cover it with the lid (on medium flame).   Ingredients: 1. Brinjal---1kg 2.
