“Dhokla” (Khummun) a traditional Gujarati snack is popular in all over India. It is very easy to prepare and I’m sure you would love to make it. This delicious and tempting snack is very healthy and low calorie food. Here’s the recipe for Instant Dhokla.
Ingredients For Dhokla :
• 1 cup gram flour (besan)
• ¼ cup semolina (suji)
• 2 tsps eno powder
• ¼ tsp Soda Bi Carb
• 1 cup yoghurt
• ½ tsp turmeric powder
• Pinch of asafoetida
• Salt to Taste
• 1 cup water
Ingredients for Tadka:
• 1 tsp mustard seeds
• 8-10 curry leaves
• 2 green chilly (finely chopped)
• 1/2 tsp sugar
• 1 tsp lemon Juice
• 2 tsps oil
• 1/2 cup water
Ingredients for Garnishing:
• 2 tsps crushed fresh coconut
• 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
Preparations For Dhokla:
• In a mixing bowl take gram flour, semolina, salt, asafetida, Soda Bi Carb, turmeric powder and yoghurt. Mix well.
• Add enough water to make a cream like consistency and mix again.
• Leave the mixture for 10 minutes.
• Grease a container.
• Heat water in a pressure cooker and place sieve (jaali) on it.
• Now add eno powder into the paste.
• Immediately pour this mixture in the greased container.
• Place it on jaali and cover the cooker.
• Remove the whistle of the cooker.
• Let it cook at high flame for 15 minutes.
• Then take out the dhoklas out of the container.
• Let it cool and then cut into small pieces.
Preparations for Tadka:
• Heat oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds.
• Add curry leaves and green chilies.
• Add 1/2 cup water, sugar and lemon juice.
• Remove it from the flame.
• Pour this on dhoklas.
• Garnish with coriander leaves and coconut.
